I got serious into photography in 2008, when I bought my first DSLR. It was a Sony alpha 100. A huge camera with 10 megapixels. It came along with two kit lenses. One standard 18-50mm and a 70-300mm. All plastic, but I loved it.
I used to get out early in the morning to shoot landscapes all around my hometown Flensburg.
I became a member of the Fotocommunity, an online platform to share images and fell in love with long exposure landscape photography.
I love it. I love it. I love it.
Being out there in the fresh air all by yourself is like a meditation. Being part of the process in nature and just waiting for something to happen, is plain awesomeness.
Of course, there are those days, where you cannot get a proper shot. Those days, where the rain, the wind and your equipment hits you hard or doesn’t function like it should (probably because I don’t do the job right). But that is a mental game.
Career in Photography
After some years spending on landscape photography, I began to change courses and headed towards portraits and headshot photography. I had some success as a music photographer as well and my images made it on the cover of some famous punk bands, but this kind of silence and loneliness is, what drives me the most.
Back to landscape photography
In 2017 I turned everything down and got back to landscape photography. And I enjoy it.
Landscape Photography, its process and the editing in Lightroom and Photoshop are my passion. I don’t want to do anything else.
